Swiss Army Contraband

Here’s a great idea: a USB thumb drive you can’t carry on a plane.

Duh!

I got one for Christmas, very handy. I’ve carried a Swiss Army knife since the 60′s and I put knives in my suitcase when I fly anyways, so this is not a problem to take whatever is stored on the drive.

I always have a Swiss Army Knife in my luggage. I prefer the “officer’s model,” with corkscrew and screwdrives among the usual goodies. It’s packed in my toilet kit when I travel, and that goes in the hold. A thumb drive, by contrast, goes with my PC — and that’s generallly in my lap.

If I weren’t a supporter of cremation, I’d asked to be buried with my Swiss Army Knife, one of the best tools ever invented.

My SO keeps one of these on her keyring and was able to bring in on two different airlines (JetBlue and Delta) just a couple weeks ago. Luckily the USB drive is easily removable just in case so, while you may lose your knife, you don’t lose your data.
