This evening at 10:30 pm I got a call from ChinesePod‘s Ken Carroll in Shanghai (1:30 pm tomorrow afternoon there). ChinesePod helps tens of thousands of adults “learn Chinese on their own terms.” They have 500 podcasts on the shelf! And more than a hundred thousand learners.
Ken and I talked for twenty minutes about our mutual enthusiasm for informal. learning (mp3). The world isn’t just flat; it’s small. Here I was talking with an Irishman in China and uploading the conversation to the net an hour later.
