Yesterday morning around 1:00 am, I gave a virtual presentation to a group of public administration officials in Barcelona. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, which is why I say “Bon dia” (Catalan) instead of “Buenos dias” in this brief video introduction:

The presentation proper starts below. The references to Ferdinand and Isabella, Antonio Gaudi, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, and the young Pablo Picasso are homage to Catalan heritage. The presentation is 16 minutes long.

Why was I talking with a group of public administrators in Spain? Because I’ve been with
a small consulting firm that is applying Open Source solutions to organizations. We’ve been swapping ideas since meeting at Online Educa in Berlin two years ago….and Barcelona is beautiful:
This is the first time I’ve used the streaming media capabilities offered by my ISP. My fingers are crossed.
Two hours later: I’m happy with the immediacy of the streaming. The images are fuzzy; I’ll see what I can do to fix that. What do you think of this mode of presentation? And is small preferable to large?

Hi, Jay –
Enjoyed the talk!
It seems to me that the “large size” is more effective than the “small size.” But maybe that’s due to my age and failing eyesight.
Jay,
I prefer the image quality of the smaller video. However, if you were showing one of your diagrams I think it might be hard to see in the smaller screen. so I guess it would be dependent on content.
Thanks for continuing to share your efforts to utilize technology in less/informal ways. After all, informal learning doesn’t really keep its character if we try to use things that are too tech heavy to deliver/gather/share it.
