I sometimes get confused in some blogs there is this thing about lectures being ineffective and here I see a slide on some kind of lecture. You are highly esteemed in e-learning circles. Karyn Romies, whom I admire is a great fan of yours. Wonder what kind of sessions thse are as most of the lectures where you have to sit and suffer make you yawn. Since your posts are so live I hope your lectures are engaging too. Just wondering!
Rina, I try. I’m beginning to think of the group sessions I lead as a combination of performance art and presentation. The “sit down and shut up” format inherent in a keynote presentation is not as effective as an interactive event. I try to make up for the medium with surprises and zany behavior. I’m still working on this. Some people are inspired; others think I’m nuts; and the ones that trouble me don’t get it at all.
Wow! I expected this as even your writing is so full of energy. There is a lot to learn from you. At nintey-nine you are so productive and contribute so much to all who can learn from your experiences. You are right about putting in interactivity through unexpected components of the lectures, till we do not device a more fun and playful medium, I guess this is the best we can do. May this sharing of yours increase with the time.Blessings and thanks for answering my query.
