The metronome of human progress is swinging exponentially faster. We are leaving the industrial era behind so quickly that even thrill-seekers like me are finding it nauseating.

Jiminy Cricket! The Feds seize control of General Motors?

My view of what’s going on:

We are in the era of networks

We are re-setting our worldview. A new age is dawning. Things will not be going back to the old version of normal. Don’t bet against the internet.

So Jay, the old traditional Portofino really is a nice contrast to the incredibly fast changing world of information and learning… and I wouldn’t like this scenery to change as much as I want learning change faster ;-)

Yeah, Sigi, it’s impossible to gauge change at all without anchors to what we’re changing from. I’m growing more appreciative of antiquity.

The photo is of Vernazza, a village on the isolated section of the Italian riviera known as the Cinqueterra. Too beautiful to imagine. And the anchovies are so good, they are protected with an EU statement of origin, like rated vineyards. The walk in from neighboring Monterosso al Mare was one of life’s great experiences.
