Casa Batllo (Antoni Gaudí)
I’m in Barcelona to visit my partners at CV&A and to speak on Open Social Learning at VI International Seminar of the UNESCO Chair in e-Learning, Open University of Catalonia. Stephen Downes and George Siemens are here so I expect we’ll light some fires.
Yesterday my friend Albert Calvet took me up the Costa Brava to Tossa del Mar. After we climbed around the old walled town, Albert treated me to one of the tastiest, freshest seafood meals I’ve ever eaten.
Shortly before 9:00 pm, George Siemens and I got together for a dinner of tapas and conversation.
eLearning 1.0 is being crowded out by informal e-supported learning. My shorthand for the phenomenon is “informal learning is entering the cloud.” Whatever you call it, this new form of eLearning relies on connections to bring people and knowledge together. It’s egalitarian. It’s participatory. It’s real-time.

I hope to capture some of the UNESCO session on video.
Now it’s time to wander down the Ramblas to the narrow streets in the medieval part of Barcelona.
