I am really looking forward to attending the VI International Seminar on Open Social Learning in Barcelona next month!

To mark the end of the 2009 as the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, the UNESCO Chair in e-Learning UOC is offering an international platform for presenting OSL related research and practices, with an eye on mapping new trends in the field of open online education at all levels. We will discuss the theoretical foundations of collective knowledge production in social networks on the Internet (connectivism, collectivism, constructivism, Edupunks), present research and case studies from various continents, assess the possibilities offered by an emerging mode of learning involving a high level of self-learning based on the peer-to-peer support. Different designs, tools and functionalities of social learning networks will be evaluated.

Thanks heavens I am speaking on the afternoon of the second day: I should be able to swipe ideas from George Siemens, Stephen Downes, and other interesting speakers who precede me. I’ll be speaking on Meta-Learning: Process of Learning in the Network Era.
I plan to discuss the implications of the worldwide phase change from the industrial age to the network era, i.e. learning in times of uncertainty.
