Poster child for open software

The beauty of open software is that it gets better all the time.

I’ve been blogging a long, long time. A decade. I remember the earliest versions of Blogger and the introduction of TypePad. But nothing has impressed me as much as the continuous evolution of WordPress. Over and over again, Matt Mullenweg and crew fix things I didn’t know were broken, making WordPress more and more useful and easy to use. Here’s what’s new in version 2.9:

These guys anticipate what their customers will want. And for most of us, WordPress is still free. It doesn’t get much better than that!

If you don’t have a blog, go to wordpress.com and start one. It will take you five minute at most. Do it just for the experience.
