Not sure about all Kodaks, but this one is better than Flipcam. For sure.

I’ve been using my Zi8 since Christmas and really enjoy the size and quality. what sold me was three things.
1. HD quality
2. replacement batteries (not expensive)
3. SD card memory (I carry 2 16 gigs)
In my experience, shooting 720 p at 60 fps seems to create a better video. The size of the unit allows you to put it in your empty front pocket and yes, having the external mic capability is very nice.
