Last night I wondered whatever happened to Gloria Gery, so I dropped her a line. I’d lost track of Gloria when she was caring for Romanian babies and later on Romanian youth several years back.
She sent me this photo from Antarctica:
She reports, “I have been gone for six years and am completely detached…. Am not on the net, facebook, linked in or anything else.”

Jay, thanks for tracking Gloria down. She looks happy and healthy, both of which are very good things. A lot of us miss her.

I took a course in grad school with a collaborator of hers, Gary Dickleman. Her EPSS book is a classic, for sure, and the idea of trying to find the “performance zone” is one that has guided me for years.
