Hangout on Personal Knowledge Management and other topics

Hangout on Air, February 8, 10-11:00 am Pacific. YouTube.

Our first weekday Hangout on Air. Attendance was down. Probably not the best weekday to try.
In the future we’ll experiment with several different type of Hangout: (1) purely social, the “Hello, stranger Caffe,” Starbucks without the expensive drinks, (2) Hangout on a specific issue, perhaps with SME. All Hangouts should begin with social warmup, news, and catch-up.

Colin Kilburn
10:59 AM
assuming you have a capable learner … it is hard to transfer documentation that does not exist.
is kahn acadamy in favour here?

Dave Ferguson
11:00 AM
My knowledge of Kahn is very limited–but essentially it’s a lecture. Could be well done, or poorly. But no direct interaction, no application to my situation, etc.

Colin Kilburn
11:04 AM
it is scormed – tracks learning / testing – sign up students.for a coach.
nice meeting you folk

Colin Kilburn

I agree too – need to slow into it a bit – friendly introductory sessions to attract – and specific follow up – unmeeting is a bit un organized. People are the technology needed to think.
