3 megapixel, 2.8x Optical Zoom. I have owned three Olympus digital cameras. This is the upgrade to the camera that took these photos. And this. And these. It's amazing to find a camera like this for less than $300. For $60 less, you can buy the

, 4 megapixels with 2.8x Optical Zoom. I love the size of this cam -- about 2/3 of the D-550, but the photos are little better than with my old 500 series. And the D-40 costs nearly $500.

Digital photography is a two-step process. First you snap the photo. Then you crop, lighten, and tweak the image. My photo editing software of choice is , also known as the "poor man's Photoshop." Every one of these photos was processed in PaintShop Pro. $70.

CardScan Executive (600c/V6) When I return from a conference with a fistful of business cards, I run them through this mini-scanner, and nine times out of ten, it captures all the informaiton on a card and puts it into a simple database which I import into Outlook. $153 after rebate.

Olympia Ultra Portable Sound System. I love this half-pound, pocket-sized gadget. Plug the SoundBug's cable into your laptop's audio-out jack; stick its suction-cup on a window. The SoundBug vibrates the glass, turning it into a (75 dbm max) speaker! $30.
